A tropical storm warning has been issued from Fire Island Inlet to Port Jefferson Harbor in anticipation of Hurricane Earl. The storm is expected to pass south of Long Island tomorrow afternoon, but forecasters expect Fire Island will experience 30 mph winds, some rain, minor tidal flooding and beach erosion as Earl brushes the South Shore.
